"Tex" is the oldest member of the fur family!
He is the "once in a lifetime" dog you always hear people talk about.
He is retired from competition now, but still enjoys Pet Therapy work. Here he is dressed up for Halloween at the Nursing Home!
BTW... He's a bat!
"King" is the baby boy in the fur family!
He has been a hoot to train, but is now retired due to one of those nasty cruciate injuries.
Now he spends his time traveling to shows so that he can show the young dogs how a big dog acts!
"Nails" was our first ever German Shepherd Dog!
Imported from German working lines, she was a lot of dog... talk about learning a lot about training... And I had to do it fast! She was my first partner in the show ring.
Sadly, this is in memory of our girl who passed in 2005 at the age of 10.
You need at least one other person to manage the dog and some noise source. This can get very silly and is not for the inhibited.
You need to get at dog level when photographing. This usually means sitting on the ground so bring something to sit on in case of snow, mud, or any other unmentionables you might encounter on the ground.
The background should be at least 10 feet away from the dog. Also try to avoid the tree out of the head.
The keyword in doing animal photography is PATIENCE, PATIENCE,   PATIENCE.
